About
Closing the size gap
Glamorise is a size-inclusive bra and sports bra brand designing comfortable, supportive bras for curvy women in more sizes than any other company. Glamorise believes women of all shapes and cup sizes deserve a bra that doesn't just fit well enough, but fits to a T — or in this case, an B to a K — without digging, slipping, pulling or poking. Glamorise designs and perfects bra styles at its New York City sewing studio using fit model feedback, rigorous testing, correcting and refitting until every size fits as it should.
Founding Story
Glamorise Foundations, Inc. established its design studio and business office in Manhattan in 1921, where it remains today. From its inception, the company made products exclusively designed for curvy women, closing the size inclusivity gap and making it the oldest privately held plus-size bra company in the United States.
The style of undergarments may have transformed significantly from when Glamorise opened its doors more than 100 years ago, but the company's mission of size inclusivity and designing for the perfect curvy fit has not waivered.
Team Bios
Peri has been an integral part of the design team for over twelve years, working on Glamorise's core product, as well as Glamorise Sport, and the Bramour collection.
Formally educated at the University of Richmond (Bachelor of Arts) and FIT (Masters in Fashion Design), where she is now a visiting professor of intimate apparel.
Peri has designed for other intimate brands such as Maidenform and Warners and intimates for other designer brands, including Donna Karan, Betsey Johnson, and Vera Wang. Peri has also designed swimwear for companies, including Vitamin A.
Jon has been part of the management team at Glamorise during both its 75th and 100th anniversaries but has actually been involved with the company for most of his life. As a young teen he interned in Glamorise’s design department cutting patterns and continued to work in the design department while still in high school.
Formally educated at Cornell University and Dartmouth College, Jon worked at Procter & Gamble in brand management and at Booz-Allen as a consultant focused on retail growth strategies. Jon joined Glamorise in 1990 as part of the management team and has been CEO for almost two decades. During this time, Glamorise has enjoyed uninterrupted growth and has been established as an important brand among curvy women.
Rita started in the intimate apparel industry at Playtex in 1977 and worked there while going to college for a BSc in Computer Science. At Playtex, Rita learned all aspects of intimate apparel including cutting, molding, pattern making, sewing specs, as well as the grading and fitting processes. Rita moved on to Bali in 1988 where her technical knowledge grew. Rita joined the Glamorise family in 1997 as a Pattern Grader and advanced to Director of Technical Design soon thereafter.
Now as VP of Product Development, Rita is involved from the initial concept to the final product, making sure every garment lives up to our high standards and the expectations of our customers. Each advancement in Rita’s career has inspired her to take on more responsibilities and she is always looking for new challenges. Even after over 40 years in the industry, Rita is still learning and enjoys being able to achieve that perfect fit!
