For comfortable support, no matter your size.

There’s no denying that shopping for bras can be overwhelming, especially when you have a large bust. Not only do you need to find a style that comes in an inclusive size range, but you also need one that’s supportive, comfortable, and undetectable under your clothes.

“Most women think the bigger the band, the better the bra will fit more comfortably. It's actually the opposite,” says Courtney Killpack, a professional bra fitter of 16 years and owner of Bra Fittings By Court. “If the band fits your body well, it will stay in place and not move around. This will prevent chafing and underwires from digging in. 90% of your support comes from the band, not the straps or cups.”

To find the best bras for large busts, we compared dozens of bras while considering factors like size range, style, and material. For expert tips on finding a supportive bra for big boobs, we consulted Killpack.

What Stands Out
  • Four-part, double-layer cups help lift and shape breasts while inward-placed straps prevent slipping.

What Could Be Improved
  • The straps are not convertible.

This full-coverage bra from Elomi is a great option for anyone with a large bust who wants a comfortable bra to wear all day with zero fears of straps slipping or lack of support. Its size range is extremely impressive, with bands from 34 to 46 and cups from D to K, depending on the band size. Keep in mind that this bra is sold in U.K. cup sizes, so this is equivalent to D to O in U.S. sizes—we recommend referring to the size chart to ensure you convert your cup size properly.

The bra has four-part, double-layer cups that help lift and shape the breasts, and the straps are positioned closer together on the back band to avoid any potential slippage. But since the straps aren’t convertible, they will be noticeable under racerback-style tops. It comes in several stunning colors with beautiful embroidery that lays flat, so you don’t have to worry about seeing the texture through your shirt.

Size Range: 34DD-46K | Materials: Polyamide, elastane, polyester | Return Policy: 30 days

What Stands Out
  • Four-way wireless support and moisture-wicking material make it comfortable enough to wear for hours on end.

What Could Be Improved
  • It's a bit thin on padding and sizes can run small for some.

If you’re looking for an affordable bra that offers plenty of support, this one’s a no-brainer. With four-way wireless support, this Playtex bra is comfortable enough to wear for hours on end.

The full cups and high sides offer more coverage and support than you’d expect from a wireless bra. It has wide straps with padded fabric for zero digging and a smooth back that disappears under clothing. Plus, this bra is made of moisture-wicking nylon (ideal for those who tend to get sweaty) and has pretty Jacquard details on the cups.

Size Range: 36B-48DDD | Materials: Nylon | Return Policy: 30 days

What Stands Out
  • This wireless bra offers impressive shape, support, and comfort.

What Could Be Improved
  • This bra isn’t suitable for low-cut tops or thin straps.

This wireless bra can do it all—lift, shape, and support—with no underwire in sight. Since it doesn’t have an underwire, there’s no chance of it digging uncomfortably into the breasts or armpits.

The four-row hook-and-eye closure means you can adjust the band for your perfect size. We also like that it’s made with a blend of soft, unlined fabric for a comfortable, barely there fit. This wireless pick boasts supportive design features, like a built-up leotard back and an added sling in the cups for chafe-free, lifted wear. Just keep in mind that it has a higher neckline, so it’s not the best choice for wearing under low-cut shirts.

Size Range: 34C-44H | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Return Policy: 60 days

What Stands Out
  • The underwire bra naturally shapes and supports breasts.

What Could Be Improved
  • It's unlined and requires hand-washing.

With two-ply cups made from Wacoal’s silky Bodysuede fabric (a combination of nylon and spandex), this comfy bra can naturally shape and support the breasts with its full-coverage design. We think this particular bra is a great wear-with-anything style.

The underwire and gore work in tandem to keep breasts separated and lifted simultaneously (no uni-boob here), although keep in mind that this bra is unlined, which means the cups are not padded. Additionally, this bra is hand-wash only and must be hung to dry.

Size Range: 32C-44H | Materials: Nylon, Lycra spandex | Return Policy: 30 days

What Stands Out
  • It's easy to clasp and features a smoothing back that resists slippage.

What Could Be Improved
  • The front seams can show through more form-fitting tops.

A front-closure bra is much easier to put on (especially for people with mobility issues) than the common hook-and-eye closures that are usually at the back of the bra band. This smoothing bra from Glamorise has a racerback style and features a smoothing back that won’t slip with all-day wear.

If you’re used to underwires poking into your skin, you’ll appreciate that this bra offers a padded underwire with an extra layer of cushion. There’s even a cushioned band inside the cups for maximum comfort, which comes in handy if you’re heading out of the house and aren’t sure when you’ll return home. This bra will keep you supported and comfortable from when you put it on until you take it off (which will be a breeze thanks to its front closure).

Size Range: 34C-48H | Materials: Polyamide, polyester, elastane | Return Policy: 30 days

What Stands Out
  • This corset-style bra won’t slide or roll down.

What Could Be Improved
  • It might not be as comfortable for long-term wear.

Finding a great strapless bra that stays up on large breasts can feel like finding a needle in a haystack. No need to lower your expectations—we tested the Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless Bra among 14 other strapless bras and were impressed with its snug and supportive fit. The body of the bra has a thick band, flexible boning, underwire, silicone lining, and seamed cups that ensure it stays secure all day long.

We like the lightly lined memory foam cups and vertical seams that offer extra lift. While this bra doesn’t sacrifice coverage or support, it might not be the most comfortable option for extended wear due to the underwire and boning. But to be fair, we don’t think a wireless bra without this robust structure would stand up to the tests, so the Curvy Kate is easily our go-to wireless option for large busts.

Size Range: 28D-40J | Materials: Nylon, polyester, elastane | Return Policy: 30 days via Amazon

What Stands Out
  • This backless, strapless bra offers light coverage for deep V-neck tops and dresses.

What Could Be Improved
  • While reusable, this bra may not have as much longevity as a fabric bra.

For clothing that feels impossible to pair with a traditional bra, the Niidor Silicone Adhesive Bra keeps you secure and comfortable without unsightly straps or bands. The sticky silicone adhesive seamlessly attaches to your skin while providing light coverage and structure. While some adhesive bras lose their stick after a few wears, you can wash this bra with mild detergent and warm water for plenty of reuse.

While backless bras can’t provide the same level of support as a regular bra, this adhesive option has a deep V-neckline and completely open back for your favorite summer dress or open-back top. We recommend applying the adhesive cups to each breast first and cinching them together with the center plastic clip for added lift.

Size Range: A-G | Materials: Silicone| Return Policy: 60 days

What Stands Out
  • It gives the illusion of reducing bust size while providing support and shaping.

What Could Be Improved
  • It might not be as breathable as other options.

Minimizer bras aren't for everyone, but they can make your bust look smaller while offering support and shaping. This one from Bali is designed to reduce the bust up to 1.5 inches, and it still delivers in the comfort department with its smooth microfiber bodice and supportive, double-layer underwire cups.

The straps are cushioned and adjustable, and the gore is arched between the cups so it lays flush against the body. This minimizer bra has a slight V-neck, so it can likely be worn with some lower-cut tops without showing.

Size Range: 32C-44G | Materials: Nylon, spandex, polyester | Return Policy: 30 days

Best Bralette for Large Busts

Harper Wilde Bliss Bralette

Harper Wilde Bliss Bralette

Nordstrom

What Stands Out
  • It's cozy to wear for lounging but still offers enough everyday support for large breasts.

What Could Be Improved
  • It's not designed with adjustable straps.

It doesn’t get more comfortable than this bralette from Harper Wilde. It’s made from a buttery soft blend of nylon and elastane and has no foam, cups, wires, or padding. Even though it’s a bralette, the Bliss still offers enough everyday support for people with large breasts. It comes in sizes XS to 4X, which translates to about 30A to 44H/46G. For sizes large and above, the bra has a double-layered sling for even more support. We also like that it has a V-shaped neck and back, making it great for low-cut front and back tees.

Size Range: XS-4XL | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Return Policy: 90 days

Best Balconette Bra for Large Busts

Soma Stunning Support Balconette Bra

Soma Stunning Support Smooth Balconette Bra

Soma

What Stands Out
  • Despite its sweetheart neckline, it still lifts, shapes, and smooths while providing full coverage for larger breasts.

What Could Be Improved
  • The color range is somewhat limited.

This balconette bra from Soma has a sweetheart neckline, so the cups are more horizontal across your chest. Although the neckline is cut differently than other full-coverage bras, the balconette style still lifts, shapes, and smooths. It still offers full coverage for bigger boobs, too.

The band has a padded hook-and-eye closure to avoid any potential scratching or poking on the skin. The underwire is impeccably hidden, so you can barely even tell that this bra has an underwire.

Size Range: 32A-44G | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Return Policy: 60 days

What Stands Out
  • It offers exceptional shaping with its seamless underwire cups and smoothing band.

What Could Be Improved
  • Hand washing is recommended.

T-shirt bras are great because they can be worn under a variety of shirt styles without showing through the neckline. This one from Wacoal is made of spacer fabric that is lightweight and opaque. The bra is exceptional at shaping with its seamless underwire cups and smoothing band that’ll look and feel great—even under form-fitting white shirts.

The straps are slightly curved on the back, and they are adjustable and anti-slip. The neckline is suitable for both scoop and V-neck shirts, making it our top choice for wearing under T-shirts. Keep in mind that the brand recommends washing this bra by hand.

Size Range: 30C-46G | Materials: Polyester, spandex | Return Policy: 30 days

Best Push-Up Bra for Large Busts

Skims Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra

Skims Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra

Skims

What Stands Out
  • The buttery soft stretchy material and light foam pads offer moderate lift and maximum comfort.

What Could Be Improved
  • It doesn't provide as much full breast coverage as other bras.

If you thought that people with large busts couldn’t wear push-up bras, think again. The Skims Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra is available in cup sizes up to an H, depending on the band size. The light foam pads will give your breasts a moderate lift, and they are flexible for maximum comfort. Plus, the stretchy material ensures that the bra still fits even if you’re in between sizes.

Our favorite part about this push-up bra is the color range: It comes in nine neutral shades, with plenty of options to match a variety of skin tones.

Size Range: 30A-38H | Materials: Polyamide, elastane | Return Policy: 30 days

Best Seamless Bra for Large Busts

Honeylove V-Neck Bra

Honeylove V-Neck Bra

Honeylove

What Stands Out
  • It's practically undetectable under clothing.

What Could Be Improved
  • It's not intended for those who want more shaping and underwire support.

Looking for a bra for large busts with zero seams? The Honeylove V-Neck Bra has you covered. With no underwire and zero seams on the cups, straps, and back, this bra will be undetectable under most tops. The cups have removable padding, so you can decide whether you’d prefer more shaping or more freedom.

The seamless bra is so comfortable that you might just find yourself falling asleep in it. If this style is sold out in your size, you can also consider the brand’s popular Crossover Bra, which is wireless, too.

Size Range: XS-3X | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Return Policy: 30 days

Best Unlined Bra for Large Busts

Thirdlove 24/7 Second Skin Bra

Thirdlove 24/7 Second Skin Unlined Bra

Thirdlove

What Stands Out
  • This bra is available in half-cup sizes.

What Could Be Improved
  • There is less nipple coverage for wearing under tight tops and clothing.

For those who want coverage and support without the bulk of extensive structure and padding, opt for the Third Love 24/7 Classic Second Skin Unlined Bra. We’ve tested an extensive range of bras, wearing them throughout our daily activities and tasks, and this pick earned our slot as the most comfortable bra for large busts. The thick straps and full cups kept us secure throughout daily wear, with no frustrating spilling, overflow, or chafing.

We also loved the nylon and spandex blend construction, which had an incredibly lightweight and natural feel that looks great under most clothing. Because unlined bras undeniably provide less coverage than their padded counterparts, you might find that this bra doesn’t have great nipple coverage.

Still, if you want to prioritize comfort, the Third Love 24/7 is a clear winner. During testing, we loved the supportive, adjustable band, no-dig straps, and buttery-soft fabric. Plus, if you’re between sizes, the brand offers half-cups for sizes A to E.

Size Range: 32A-44H | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Return Policy: 60 days

Final Verdict

Our top pick is the Elomi Cate Full Cup Banded Bra for its ability to support, lift, and shape. We also appreciate its generous size range and color selection. For a budget-friendly alternative, we recommend the Playtex 18-Hour Ultimate Lift & Support Wirefree Bra. This style offers full coverage and plenty of support without any underwire.

How to Shop for Bras for Large Busts

Size and Fit

Aside from feeling comfortable and supported, you also want to make sure that your bra fits properly. According to Killpack, there are six parts that determine if your bra fits properly

  • Band: The band is the most important part of your bra fit. The higher it is on the back, the lower your breasts will be in the front, and the lower it is in the back, the higher up they will be in the front. Killpack notes that the band should lie in the middle to lower part of the back.
  • Gore: The gore is at the bottom center of the bra beneath the underwires. It should lay flat against the body while keeping the breasts separated.
  • Top Cup: The top curvature of the cup should also be flush against the breast. If it’s too tight, you’ll notice your breasts spilling out of the top; if it’s too big, there will be a gap between the cup and your breasts.
  • Bottom Cup: The bottom cup—aka the curve by the underwire—is where the dreaded underboob can occur. To ensure your breasts are sitting in the cup correctly, you’ll want to scoop and lift the breasts so they’re sitting above the underwire.
  • Sides: If the cup size is too small, the breast tissue closest to the armpits can get irritated by the underwire. “Make sure to move your arms back and forth while fitting the bra,” Killpack says. “If you feel like the bra is chafing in your armpit area, that’s not good, and you’ll want to go down a cup size.”
  • Straps: “For correct fitting straps, try to slide two fingers underneath the strap and have a hard time moving them around,” Killpack says. “They need to be tightened if you can move your fingers around easily. Remember, the support comes from the band, not the straps.”

Style

Deciding on the best type of bra for you mostly comes down to personal preference and what you intend to wear it with. Some styles are more suitable for shirts with low necklines, while others have convertible straps to accommodate racerback and strapless tops.

You can never really go wrong with a versatile T-shirt bra, and for optimal comfort, you can forgo underwire and opt for a wireless bra. If the typical back closure on a bra is difficult for you, a front-closure style is a great alternative.

We recommend owning a variety of bra styles so you always have suitable undergarments for what you want to wear. Because breasts are unique and different from person to person, keep in mind that finding the right style for you may take some trial and error.

Support

A majority of the support in a bra comes from a great-fitting band, according to Killpack. So once you find a bra with a supportive band, there are a few other things you can look for in a bra for bigger boobs—for example, thicker straps may be better for those with larger cup sizes.

Some bras can be converted to different styles such as racerback, halter, and one-shoulder. While some racerback straps offer additional support based on their structure, halter-style straps (although helpful for open-back tops), can sometimes cause neck strain, especially for people with large busts.

Questions You Might Ask

What types of bras are best for large busts?

There are plenty of bras that are great for big boobs, but the best one for you depends on a few factors, like “your breast shape, what's comfortable to you, your end goal, and your body shape,” Killpack says.

A great place to start is deciding whether you want a full-coverage bra or a balconette bra, both of which are suitable for people with large breasts. You may want to go the minimizer bra route, which makes your bust look less pronounced while still offering support and shaping.

Are underwire bras necessary for bigger bust sizes?

Underwire bras aren’t necessary for large breasts (we've got a few wireless styles on our list!) but Killpack still highly recommends them. “Underwires give the bra more structure,” she says. “With an underwire, you'll get better shape, lift, and separation.”

Remember that just because a bra has an underwire doesn’t automatically make it uncomfortable. “If the bra fits correctly, you shouldn't notice the underwire,” Killpack says. “Some women are more sensitive to things on their bodies or have protruding ribs that make underwires uncomfortable. It comes down to the client and what will feel best.”

How do you make sure that your bra fits properly?

The first step to finding a bra that fits is getting the correct size. It’s actually pretty easy to measure your bra size at home, but you can also get a professional fitting to ensure that you select a style that fits properly.

Once you have your correct size, refer back to Killpack’s advice in the Size and Fit section above to make sure that the bra you choose fits properly. This will involve looking at how the band, cups, straps, and gore fit on your body.
