About
Dinner Service NY (DSNY) is on a mission to eradicate plastic based fabrics and toxic chemicals from the apparel industry. DSNY creates non-gender clothing for free thinkers, not the masses. Each article is designed in partnership with musical artists, as part of exclusive capsule collections. These limited edition runs prevent overproduction, preserving the garment’s unique identity and the health of the planet. It’s also through musical artists and their shared values that Dinner Service NY is able to share its version of sustainability within the fashion space.
The brand was also built on the premise that clothing should tell a story and some of the best stories are shared around a dinner table. When we sit down for dinner together, we nourish our bodies, as well as our minds. By sharing stories with friends and family, we forge deeper connections and create new memories. DSNY believes that music has the power to create positive change and brings musicians, their stories and values, all together under one roof through the expression of fashion. It’s a platform for musicians to build and monetize their brand, while playing a vital role in the future. A good story reverberates and we serve only the best.
Founding Story
Growing up, Gabrielle Gomes was always taught to be mindful of what we put in our bodies, while Trina Assur was raised with a no-waste, only use what you need mentality. The two met in undergraduate school in 2007 and instantly connected. Fast forward to 2018, Assur had just left a career in investment banking and took a job at a mission-centric bedding startup called Boll & Branch. Gomes had been leading a successful career in retail marketing when Assur recruited her to join the budding e-Commerce brand. At a time when businesses across the globe were put under a microscope, Boll & Branch pioneered a new, end-to-end sustainable supply chain. Gabrille and Trina witnessed first-hand how intricately connected our health & wellness was to the environmental ecosystem in which we live. It wasn’t long before their attention naturally turned to the one corner of the textile industry that seemed to be ignored – apparel.
Throughout the last few decades, the fashion industry has seen a growing dependence on plastic based fabrics, particularly polyester, which requires toxic chemical inputs. The byproducts of these garments, not only in production, but also during their life, and after disposal, has become a leading contributor to environmental pollution. After countless hours of research, and endless personal struggles trying to find alternative options that were not either too bland and boring, or too expensive, it became apparent that was a huge white space in this vast market, and consumer needs were not being met.
Dinner Service NY was born out of obligation to the next generation. Gomes and Assur are building a path towards a better future. A future with healthier people and a healthier planet; a future where sustainability is affordable, scalable, and fashionable; a future where our clothing holds value, tells a story, and brings people together.

×Team Bios
Trina spent the early part of her career in Investment Banking roles, spanning across the Technology and Media & Entertainment industries, at both middle-market and bulge bracket firms (Oppenheimer & Co. and J.P. Morgan). In 2015, she went to business school at the University of Chicago, where she teamed up with a classmate to help build what is now Tovala. In that role, she learned data driven product development strategies, how to build an effective go-to-market plan, and how to fund growth at digitally native businesses.
From the beginning of her career, Gabrielle has worked in various marketing analytics roles across the gaming, hospitality, luxury fashion, and consumer goods industries. Over 10 years, she built experience in strategic brand development and cross-channel marketing, rooted in consumer analytics. She has developed consumer journey roadmaps, acquisition and retention strategies, customer reinvestment matrices, and campaign effectiveness, across both institutional brands (MGM Resorts International and Chanel) and early-stage start-ups (Revel Entertainment and Boll & Branch).
