Snail Serum contains a biomimetic variation of Marine Cone Snail’s venom known as XEP™-018, a clinically proven biomimetic peptide shown to minimize muscle contractions, delivering both instant and visible results which include smoother and more even-toned skin, remarkable reduction in wrinkle depth, visible smoothing of expression lines, and maximum moisture retention. This biomimetic peptide acts as a modulator of neuromuscular transmission, which controls facial movement.
By reducing movement in a similar way to Botox, just on a smaller scale (efficacy and time), this biomimetic peptide acts as an instant line relaxer giving a smooth skin appearance. An in vivo study of a single application with 3% XEP™-018 on 33 subjects results in visible and significant reduction of wrinkle depth and rugosity 2 hours after application.
In addition to being based off of snail venom, this serum also contains Snail Mucin (Hydraprotectol). The glycolic acid found in the snail mucin is said to help cells produce collagen and elastin, which even out skin tone and smooth its surface, and the glycosaminoglycans derived from the mucin further firm and support wrinkle reduction.
Additionally, Snail Serum contains Niacinamide (2%), also known as vitamin B3 and Nicotinic Acid, which is a very effective skin-restoring ingredient that offers benefits for aging skin such as visibly improving pore size, uneven skin tone, and fine lines. Niacinamide also helps to create promote an even skin tone and a glowing complexion.
Snail Serum also contains Hyadisine which is shown to increase skin moisture by 20.6% on average after just 24 hours of application, making it 58.5% more hydrating than Hyaluronic Acid. Snail Serum also contains Betaine, Trehalose, Echinacea, Moringa Oil, and a handful of other natural ingredients.
