Miniland, makers of award-winning toys and games focused on Social Emotional Learning and Diversity, continues to enhance its efforts to become a greener company through the expansion of its successful ECO Grow Green line and actively measuring its carbon footprint over the past four years.
“We are really proud of our efforts to become more eco-conscious,” said Clara Roque, national sales manager for Miniland USA. “Climate change currently represents the greatest environmental, social, and economic threat to the planet. That is why Miniland has decided to take a step forward to support the planet and be one of the few Spanish companies that voluntarily calculates the Greenhouse Gas Emissions derived from its activity. In addition, this calculation is verified by an external audit company and registered in the National Registry of Carbon Footprint.”
The company shared its detailed Carbon Footprint Report with its sales representatives and retailers this year in a transparent effort to communicate the company’s reduction of its three-year average of emissions by 8.7%, with a significant reduction of 28.89% between 2020 and 2021.
Miniland has also expanded its line of eco-friendly toys and games made of bio-based materials like reclaimed wood and natural fir fibers, bioplastic produced from sugar cane, and recycled materials. Focusing on the importance of sustainability and durability through impactful, classic play, Miniland’s new additions include knitted doll fashions made from recycled materials, new ECO Sensory Balls made of natural rubber for babies and toddlers, and uniquely designed Towering Wood Stones made of FSC wood.
In honor of Earth Day, Miniland will be giving away $500 worth of ECO products on its social media accounts to inspire parents and educators to support green play and eco-conscious education.
“Our brand mission has always been to encourage respect, kindness, and acceptance among young children, so that they can become open-minded and accepting adults,” said Roque. “Treating the Earth with that same level of respect is the drive behind everything we do.”

Miniland believes that empowering 21st-century skills with multiple play experiences encourages children’s social and emotional development in the critical stages of childhood. Inspired by active collaboration, collective creativity, continual learning, and with the support of Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences whereby intelligence in children is not a single, static quality, Miniland’s array of educational toys and games are made for children ages 0 to 7 to experiment with the world both in and out of the classroom.
Miniland has been named a TOTY Doll of the Year Finalist (2022) and winner of countless awards including Platinum Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, Toy Insider, Play for Change, and more. They have worked with organizations like The National Down Syndrome Society and are continuously providing tools and information to parents and educators about the importance of diversity and acceptance in early childhood development.
