November 1, 2024 - Bloomfield Hills, MI – Benny’s Eyewear, a new woman-owned luxury eyewear brand, announces the launch of its curated collection of Italian-made reading glasses, offering sophisticated design and optical quality for those who believe that style should be timeless and enduring. Named after Benjamin Franklin, the inventor of bifocals, Benny’s Eyewear combines fashion-forward aesthetics with premium quality materials to deliver unparalleled reading glasses that not only elevate personal style but also protect eye health.
Each pair of Benny’s glasses is exclusively handmade in Italy, crafted by skilled artisans using the finest Italian materials and sustainable production practices to achieve a level of quality that stands out in the luxury eyewear market. Recognizing that reading glasses are more than just a tool, but a style statement, Benny’s offers a curated selection of designs that reflect today’s most iconic trends, blending timeless style with modern functionality.
“Our mission at Benny’s is to transform reading glasses into a luxurious accessory that people are proud to wear,” said Susan Berryman, founder of Benny’s Eyewear. “As someone who has always admired Benjamin Franklin’s innovative spirit, I wanted to create a line of reading glasses that would bring a fresh sense of elegance to the optical world. Benny’s is about more than just helping you see clearly; it’s about enhancing your personal style while protecting your eyes.”
Berryman founded the brand after working for 24 years in the optical industry. “I couldn’t find any fashionable, really high-quality readymade reading glasses. I was specifically looking for Italian craftsmanship after being in the industry for so long and understanding the importance of materials, workmanship and sustainable production,” explained Berryman. “I found two multi-generational factories in Italy and toured them so I could see first hand how they were producing the frames. I was beyond impressed and knew I had found the right fit for Benny’s when I saw their meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to quality.”
Benny’s reading glasses feature optical-quality lenses with integrated blue light filtering, offering a double benefit by improving reading clarity and reducing exposure to potentially harmful blue light from digital devices. This makes Benny’s an ideal choice for individuals who spend significant time on screens, reading, or working under artificial lighting.
Benny’s Eyewear is available for purchase on www.bennyseyewear.com and in a limited number of retail locations.

Brand Initiatives
Heritage Craftsmanship Initiative - We partner exclusively with small, family-run Italian ateliers to preserve artisanal eyewear-making traditions and highlight the cultural heritage behind each pair of glasses.Sustainable Luxury Commitment - We prioritize environmentally responsible materials and production methods, from biodegradable acetates to plastic-free packaging, ensuring that luxury never comes at the expense of the planet.Rad Revolutionaries - Ben Franklin was a revolutionary, and we only use "real people" versus models in our campaigns. Whether they are art curators, woodworkers, artists or chefs, they are rad revolutionaries in their own way
