The Mujo Lemna Bar is the first protein bar of its kind anywhere in the world. No other consumer brand has brought lemna, the aquatic plant commonly known as duckweed, to market as a protein bar ingredient, and Mujo is launching it with a formulation that makes the case for why it should have happened sooner.

Lemna is an extraordinary ingredient. It grows on water, doubles in biomass every 24 hours, and requires no soil, no nitrogen fertilizer, and a fraction of the land and water used by conventional protein crops. But what makes it genuinely remarkable as a protein source is its nutritional profile. Unlike most plant proteins, which are typically incomplete or low in one or more essential amino acids, lemna delivers all nine essential amino acids in proportions that rival animal proteins like eggs and whey. It has a perfect protein digestibility score of 1.0 — the highest possible rating, shared by very few protein sources in existence. For a plant protein to achieve that benchmark is almost without precedent.

The bar is high in protein, fiber, and contains 7-8g of sugar only from food sources. It contains no soy, no whey, and no artificial ingredients. The macronutrient profile was designed with the shifting demands of the modern high-performer in mind — including the growing population of GLP-1 users who are prioritizing protein quality and digestibility over caloric density.
