About
Kendria Strong is an accomplished product innovator, developer and global marketing strategist, who is leaving an indelible mark on the beauty industry and community. Her journey from working for multi-billion-dollar textured hair care companies to beginning her own groundbreaking research accepted by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to launching ROOTED REVIVall™, her haircare company, is nothing short of inspiring.
Over the past two decades, Kendria has partnered with multi-billion-dollar companies like Revlon and Godrej Consumer Products to transform their brands. She has led the launch of over 100 products for diverse and underserved segments, including women of color, textured hair, and plant-based lifestyles. Her dedication to haircare science and reimagining and restoring brands has not only led to her scaling an iconic Black haircare brand to the #1-unit leader in AA haircare, but also to her current groundbreaking work in biotechnology & hair health.
Kendria’s ability to connect with the consumer’s needs and translate that into products that energize the market is unparalleled. During her time at Godrej Consumer Products, she reimaged iconic Black haircare brands like African Pride, where she scaled the brand to #1-unit leader in African-American haircare. Under Kendria Strong’s leadership, the portfolio evolved from 60% chemical to embracing the natural hair/ ingredient movement through the creation of African Pride Moisture Miracle product line. This work not only diversified the portfolio through the brand's resurrection but also drove 7% organic EBITDA growth.
In 2023, Kendria transitioned from corporate life to rediscover her passion and become an innovator and entrepreneur. Kendria Strong initiated breakthrough research and made remarkable progress in the STEM field for the beauty industry. Her most impactful work includes the development of a new proprietary strengthening treatment through her research lab, which has completed clinical trials with outstanding results. This innovative treatment has been scientifically proven to significantly reduce hair breakage and restore damage caused by daily weathering and chemical treatments in fragile, breakage-prone hair textures. Kendria’s focus on biofunctional plant peptides and herbalism is pioneering, offering a natural solution that repairs severely damaged hair by restoring its inner structure and smoothing the cuticle, thereby increasing hair resistance, reducing breakage by 58%, and helping to improve hair's overall health.
In May 2024, she was invited to participate in the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer program in the Biological Technologies category. With a typical acceptance rate of 10 to 20 percent annually, this achievement gives national recognition to the research project’s potential to impact global scientific advancement and the haircare industry using plant-based biofunctional peptides and amino acids.
Launched in June 2025, created with love and backed by science, she founded ROOTED REVIVall, a haircare company. Kendria’s commitment to modern, holistic beauty, transformative products, and scientific research exemplifies the intersection of innovation and purpose. Success, for Kendria, means healthier beauty standards, confident consumers, and a legacy of positive impact.
Kendria was born and raised in rural Florida. Her family maintains property, purchased by her grandfather, with agricultural crops and a historical store that served as a gas station for Black Americans during segregation. The cultivation and harvesting of plants have been historically documented in her family since 1879, and continues to inspire her purpose.
She is inventing natural, plant-based, safe products that will alleviate the endless cycle of hair breakage and the difficulty of balancing a busy lifestyle with maintaining healthy hair.
Kendria is a graduate of Florida A&M University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She earned a full-ride track scholarship and served as team captain of the track team. Florida A&M University (FAMU) is in the top three public historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) according to the U.S. News and World Report 2024 Best College Rankings. Kendria also holds an MBA in Marketing from William Carey University and completed a certificate in Executive Leadership Principles at Harvard Business School.
