Seenaya is a mother and daughter founded skincare brand rooted in generational rituals and reimagined through science. Inspired by their great grandmother’s skincare recipes, Pakistani founders Saman and Maha transform cultural wisdom into clinically proven, dermatologist approved formulas designed for today’s consumer. Together, they embarked on a two year journey of meticulous formulation and testing, collaborating with former L’Oréal and Estée Lauder chemists to elevate those passed down recipes into intentional, high performance skincare. Each product is crafted with sustainability in mind, being vegan, halal, cruelty free, and transparently sourced, which positions Seenaya as a brand that is both culturally resonant and globally responsible.
With a mission to redefine representation in beauty, Seenaya creates intentional skincare that delivers real results while fostering belonging and inclusivity. The brand’s community driven approach extends beyond skincare by inviting feedback throughout the formulation and packaging design process, ensuring products not only perform but also reflect the voices of those they serve.
Founding Story
The story of Seenaya begins in the kitchens of Lahore, Pakistan, where Saman and Maha spent Sundays making homemade beauty remedies inspired by their great grandmother’s rituals. These intimate generational practices, steeped in natural ingredients and ancestral wisdom, planted the seed for a brand that celebrates heritage while embracing modern science.
Years later, Maha pursued a career in finance in New York while Saman ran her own fashion label in Lahore. Both women went on to pursue MBAs at the same time, each researching ideas that honored their culture and entrepreneurial spirit. In one conversation, they realized they were searching for the same thing: a business partner who truly understood their vision. That moment became their turning point; the realization that they were each other’s ideal partner.
Seenaya was born not just as a skincare brand, but as a tribute to family and heritage. Its name carries deep meaning: the Urdu letter “س,” pronounced seen, corresponds to “S” in English and honors the women in Saman and Maha’s lineage, as Saman, her sister, mother, and grandmother all share names beginning with “S.” Naya means “new” in Urdu, reflecting a fresh perspective that reimagines generational rituals for today. Together, the name Seenaya embodies both tradition and renewal. It serves as a a bridge between the wisdom of the past and the promise of the future, connecting generations through the universal ritual of caring for one’s skin.
