Founded by Rachel Wexler, a mother of two and fashion entrepreneur, Recette was born from a simple idea: that children’s products should be as thoughtfully designed as the homes and families they belong to.

Recette's plates and bowls, crafted from plant-based, renewable materials, are intentionally designed to be safe, functional, and timelessly beautiful. Alongside chic silicone placemats and stainless-steel utensils, Recette brings a fresh perspective to family dining -one rooted in conscious design and everyday joy.

Proudly female-founded and independently run, Recette champions better materials, elevated aesthetics, and mindful living - making it easy for families to feel good about what’s on their tables and in their homes.

Founding Story

Recette was founded by Rachel Wexler, a mother of two and former fashion entrepreneur, who set out to create the kind of mealtime experience she wanted for her own family - safe, beautiful, and free of clutter. With two children under two, Rachel found herself overwhelmed by conflicting information about what was healthy and truly non-toxic across toys, gear, and tableware. Most options felt full of hidden toxins or poorly designed, leaving her home and mind feeling chaotic.

Determined to create something better, Rachel teamed up with a chemical engineer to analyze the latest materials research and applied her background in design to develop products that marry function with elevated form. The result is Recette - a modern tableware brand committed to cutting through the noise with thoughtfully made, plant-based essentials that bring calm, beauty, and safety to the family table.

Rachel Wexler is the founder of Recette, a New York–based children’s tableware brand redefining mealtime with products that are as safe as they are beautiful. Drawing on her background in fashion and brand development, Rachel created Recette to fill a gap she felt firsthand as a parent—one where design, sustainability, and safety could coexist seamlessly.

After years in the fashion industry co-founding and scaling a women’s apparel line, Rachel turned her entrepreneurial eye toward family life. Frustrated by the clutter of children’s products made with questionable materials, she set out to design a better solution—partnering with material experts to engineer plant-based PLA plates and bowls, stainless-steel utensils, and non-toxic silicone placemats that meet the highest standards of safety and sustainability.

Through Recette, Rachel is helping parents reset the table with elevated essentials that make family meals both mindful and memorable. She lives in New York City with her husband and two young children, who continue to inspire her mission every day.
