Moss Pure is an award winning company that was founded at a startup competition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Lebanon Challenge) in June 2020 where it won First Place Startup. During the competition, our Founder and CEO, Jamie Mitri, saw a gap in the living wall market that was frustrating customers. Living plant walls needed constant watering and maintenance and replacement. So horticulture and florist companies started using preserved moss which is no longer living and treated with chemicals. Preserved moss is a problem. It fades quickly, doesn’t last, and needs constant maintenance and replacement. Customers were frustrated and wanted a real plant wall. So using patent pending and complex science, Jamie created a brand new product and invention that is the world’s first and only company to use 100% live moss as wall art that doubles as an air filter and stress relief device. But we aren’t just adding moss to a frame. We build out our science into every piece, including assembling a multi-layered scientifically certified air filter within each device.
