Founding Story
After spending over 20 years in HR leadership roles across various organizations, HR Acuity founder Deb Muller noticed a glaring gap in how companies managed employee relations. While HR as a whole had evolved, employee relations (ER) often felt like the forgotten corner of the department. It was clear that there was no consistent, structured way to handle employee behaviors—whether things were going right or, more importantly, when they went wrong.
Muller saw firsthand how the lack of a prescriptive approach to managing employee relations led to inconsistent outcomes, unnecessary risks, and missed opportunities to build trust and transparency. She also realized that better outcomes for employees and organizations could be achieved if companies could approach employee behaviors with the same rigor and consistency as other business processes. That realization led Muller to found HR Acuity—creating a solution that would empower organizations to manage employee relations and workplace investigations with fairness, transparency, and consistency.
Today, HR Acuity is trusted by some of the largest and most respected brands in the world. HR Acuity's case management software and tools are designed to help organizations reduce risk, foster trust, and build better workplaces.
Team Bios
Deb Muller is the founder and CEO of HR Acuity, a solution built for employee relations and investigations. She is driven by an obsession to do things the right way, particularly in employee relations, where she has spent her career championing excellence and effectively managing workplace investigations.
After serving in executive HR roles at numerous Fortune 500 companies including Honeywell, Citibank, and Marsh & McLennan, Deb launched HR Acuity to create technology with built-in expertise and equip organizations to manage employee relations more strategically. Deb provides a wealth of real-world experience and guidance to help companies strengthen processes, transform workplace culture, and elevate employee relations as a strategic driver of business success.
Deb holds a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MA in Instructional Systems Development from the University of Maryland.
Rebecca Trotsky, chief people officer of HR Acuity, has two decades of HR experience, during which she has developed comprehensive approaches to employee relations, engagement, talent acquisition and professional development. Rebecca is a dedicated leader who prioritizes business success through talent management and organizational capability. Before joining HR Acuity, Rebecca held executive HR roles at Fortune 500 companies such as Honeywell and KONE.
