Founding Story

Purpose

To create new standards in a dirty industry that forces all other participants to level up while encouraging a holistic approach to health for people who want to improve.

Vision

We have created a world class brand of real food supplement and food products that are simple, clean, high-quality, delicious, tested for purity and transparent, utilizing trusted marketing partners and education to scale, setting a standard for all other brands to aspire to.

Team Bios

Dr. Anthony Gustin is a former sports rehab clinician turned amateur farmer, entrepreneur,

author, podcaster, and investor. Driven by a commitment to fixing what is broken in our modern

health and food systems, he has founded several companies that empower people to live

healthier lifestyles.

Equip Foods was born out of frustration with a supplement industry full of misinformation,

underdosed products, and shady ingredient sourcing. As he puts it, “The supplement industry is

dirty and people are getting robbed. Our food system is bereft of nutrients and toxic. People who

give a damn about their health need support and alternatives on their journey. No one else is

doing it, so we will.” Anthony aims to raise the bar across the entire industry, setting new

standards for transparency and quality, and helping people bridge the gap between their daily

nutritional needs and real foods.

As a recognized expert in food systems and regenerative agriculture, Anthony has invested in

and advised over 40 businesses in the health and wellness space, always striving to help good

people do good things. He continues to explore what it means to live like a human through his

podcast, The Natural State, and his newsletter, The Feed.

Kieran is a Canadian entrepreneur based in Los Angeles. He currently runs Equip Foods, a real-food supplement

brand known for its grass-fed beef protein powder that tastes like dessert, Prime Protein. Since

taking over operations in 2021, Equip Foods has scaled top line and bottom line by 30X+ from low seven

figures in net sales to mid eight figures. It's an extremely lean team with <10 FTE's,

optimizing for sustainable, profitable growth.

Prior to Equip, Kieran founded Amplify, a marketing services business that helped CPG brands grow

in the student market. He started the company in university, dropped out, and ran it for about six

years. There, he earned business from the likes of Unilever, Procter & Gamble, L'Oréal, PepsiCo, Lyft,

Nestle, Molson-Coors, and Popeyes. Amplify was fortunate to employ over 3500 students. Kieran has been

named to both the Forbes 30 Under 30 and Adweek Young Influentials lists for his work.

Equip aside, Kieran serves as an investor and advisor to CPG brands. When not staring at a computer

screen, he runs a lot (around 3000 miles a year), meditates, reads, golfs and cooks.

ELLE Singapore - Aug 29, 2025 These Are the Best Protein Powders for Women, According to Experts "Another one of Jenn’s favorites, this Equip protein powder is a great option for anyone experiencing frequent bloating. The lack of eggs, sugar, soy, dairy, and gluten makes this stomach-friendly. Not to mention, it tastes delicious–Jenn suggests mixing it with milk or water. Protein per serving: 25.7 g. Size: 27.2 oz. Flavors: 8 Customer reviews: “I've finally found my holy grail protein powder with Equip Foods Prime Protein in vanilla. The taste is absolutely amazing—it's not overly sweet or artificial, which is a huge relief. What I love most is that there's absolutely no bloat, which is a common issue I've had with other protein supplements.”"
The Manual - Aug 20, 2025 Whey is the protein king, but beef powder deserves a seat at the table "Kieran Mathew can definitely relate. He’s the CEO of Equip Foods, a leading manufacturer of beef protein, and he indicates that my experience was typical. “A lot of people still experience bloating, gas, or skin issues from it,” he says. “A unique growth factor in whey, IGF-1, causes acne in many people as well. “Our beef isolate is a complete protein with all nine essential amino acids, plus naturally occurring collagen and gelatin, which whey doesn’t have. The amino acids found in collagen and gelatin are hard to get in our diets otherwise, and [they] provide great benefits to joint, skin, and bone health.” The one issue with beef powder that Mathew doesn’t dispute is the clumping factor. Whey does mix more easily due to the collagen and gelatin, which is part of the reason why his company sells a hand blender that’s a convenient alternative to a blender."
Run Oregon - Aug 18, 2025 Pre, Powder, Prime: The Equip Foods Quadruple Threat "When it comes to fueling my workouts and recovery, I tend to lean toward simple, clean options that don’t require a chemistry degree to decode. So, when I had the chance to test out a few products from Equip, I figured it was time to put the blender to work and see how these powders and bars performed in real-life training and recovery."
