The idea for CurlyWags began with a pup named Dora and a brush full of tears. Like many pet parents, founder Tiffany McKenzie didn’t realize that brushing a dry, curly coat could be painful—until Dora’s eyes welled up one too many times. Raised with her own curly hair journey and an instinct to protect, Tiffany saw herself in Dora’s struggle. That moment became a mission: no more yanking, no more guesswork. Just better care for every curl.
Inspired by textured haircare and informed by curl specialists, veterinarians, and cosmetic chemists, Tiffany created the CurlyWags Method—a gentle, effective routine made just for curly coats. With empathy rooted in her own allergic sensitivities and a deep love for dogs, she developed products that are safe, clean, and tailored to textured fur.
