BROTH started in founder Andrew Schlack’s Denver kitchen after he realized coffee wasn’t working for him.

Like most people, he started his day with a cup to get going. But it came with a trade-off: energy for anxiety, an upset stomach, and a crash that left him feeling depleted. Eventually, he decided the benefits of coffee didn’t outweigh the drawbacks, and the existing alternatives didn’t offer the whole-body benefits he was looking for.

So he went to work on making something new that didn’t require compromise.

Already an avid bone broth drinker for its collagen, protein, and restorative benefits, the idea started to take shape: if he could take the nourishment of bone broth and pair it with the mental edge he drank coffee for, he could make something that felt truly complete.

What became Dawn, BROTH’s first product, started as a personal kitchen experiment. Andrew bought individual ingredients from trusted organic sources, weighed powders by hand, tested spices, adjusted for texture and mouthfeel, and iterated the formula until it felt complete.

That was the moment he realized he might be onto something, and it became much bigger than a kitchen project.

Today, BROTH is being built as a functional beverage brand with bone collagen at its core.
