Founding Story
Laying Down the Roots
The consensus: “Let’s do this for our families.” Julie Bennett and Cathy Thrasher wholeheartedly supported the decision to start a new firm because they wanted a different kind of life – one that would allow them to put down roots in Atlanta and one where their husbands would be home at night to help them put the children to bed.
By putting their families first, Rick and Ken also set the tone for a different kind of firm – one where the people who make up the firm are valued and respected above everything else.
Establishing Our Values
That day at Rick’s kitchen table, the founding partners demonstrated another characteristic that would set the firm apart: shared values. Before they could move forward together as business partners, Rick and Ken needed to be on the same page about the core values for which they were willing to fight: integrity, family, and service to clients.
Through that unity of values, Rick and Ken laid the foundation for a firm that attracts dynamic professionals and clients who hold those same values. Thanks to that solid foundation, Bennett Thrasher has grown into one of the largest and most respected firms in Atlanta and in the United States. Clearly, we are Better Together.
Team Bios
Jeff Call serves as Managing Partner of Bennett Thrasher. He specializes in wealth transfer/estate planning, investment, tax and financial planning for high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, family business owners and executives. He has significant experience providing financial counsel on income tax, estate and gift tax, investment, insurance, charitable and retirement planning matters. Additionally, Jeff has experience in individual, partnership, S corporation and fiduciary taxation.
Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher in 2002, Jeff worked for Arthur Andersen as a Manager in the Private Client Services practice. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and has also earned the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation. Additionally, Jeff has passed the Series 65 Uniform Registered Investment Adviser Examination.
Jeff has been named to the prestigious Atlanta Magazine Five Star Wealth Manager list for metro Atlanta for eight years. He is a frequent speaker and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, BankRate.com and Accounting Today, and he has written articles for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Business to Business Magazine, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Vistage View and Tax Advisor magazine.
