Founding Story

AndersonOrd was born from the unbreakable bond between two lifelong friends and former football teammates who shared a passion for competition, the ocean, and the unmistakable energy of San Diego’s coastline. Co-founders Jonathan Ord and Tom Underwood grew up surfing, socializing, and playing under the Friday night lights before continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Ord studied Accounting at BYU, serving as backup quarterback to Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer, while Underwood pursued Business Management at San Diego State, excelling as a wide receiver in the Aztecs’ dynamic offense. When their playing days came to an end, their competitive drive never did. Ord went on to co-create one of the leading CRM software platforms used by a third of automotive dealerships in the United States, while Underwood built a successful career in real estate and golf club management, overseeing some of the country’s most prestigious communities and courses.

Years later, during a round of golf, a simple conversation sparked a transformative idea. While the game had evolved in every measurable way, its apparel had not. What followed was years of research, development, and refinement—driven by a clear vision: to build a premium brand that blended elite performance with elevated style and the effortless confidence of coastal living. That vision became AndersonOrd.

Today, AndersonOrd stands at the forefront of premium Lifeleisure™ apparel, setting a new standard in the golf and lifestyle space. With proprietary fabrics, precision construction, and a modern California-inspired aesthetic, the brand has grown to serve over 2,000 club partners nationwide, maintaining full inventory control and in-house embroidery to ensure unmatched quality and consistency. What began as an idea between two friends has evolved into a category-defining movement—where performance meets sophistication, and where looking sharp is matched by feeling exceptional. AndersonOrd continues to push the industry forward, redefining what modern apparel should be: premium, versatile, and built for every part of life.
