Consumers are choosing innovative products inspired by global cusines. Not only are brands responding with international flavors, but also with globally sourced ingredients, unique formats and even plant-based takes on traditional meaty dishes.

Specifically, consumer interest in food from Asia is on the rise. Sales of foods influenced by general Asian culture—not including Japanese—and flavors increased 16.3%, reaching $3.52 billion during the 52 weeks ending Oct. 30, 2022, according to SPINS.

Additionally, consumers are continuing to expand their culinary curiosity to other parts of the globe, such as the Middle East. SPINS data shows that the Middle East/Mediterranean – General/Non-Specific international attribute category represented a market value of $1.82 million during the aforementioned time period. Though the growth rate in this category was slower than that of other categories, these numbers nonetheless are a clear indication of consumer interest in these regional cuisines.

Retailers can support this demand by stocking the innovative internationally inspired products featured in this gallery, which include South Asian-style biscuits and Indian-inspired gulab jamun syrup, among others.
