Lily Gladstone was a vision as she won best actress for her performance in Killers of the Flower Moon last night at the 2024 SAG Awards. The star wore a custom red Armani Privé fringed dress and stained glass-inspired earrings designed by Molly Murphy-Adams, the latter framing her soft makeup and sleek, half-up braided hair look. “I wanted to keep the makeup soft and spare to feature her incredible beauty,” says her makeup artist Fiona Stiles. “My goal was flawless, glowing, sculpted skin and show-stopping lashes, keeping the focus not on the makeup but on Lily.” As such, Stiles began by prepping Gladstone’s skin using the CurrentBody Skin Face & Neck Kit on her face and décolletage, combining red and near-infrared light to boost blood flow and bring an instant glow to the skin. Getty Images From there, Stiles crafted velvety matte skin with Lancôme Teint Idole foundation and concealer before swirling Cheekbone Beauty Pink Cheek blush on for a “softly rosy” flush and painting lips in a complementary pink hue with L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte lipstick in Hush Hush. For eyes, Stiles tightlined with Drama Liqui-Pencil Dramatic Eyeliner in Cafe Noir, swept Idôle Tint liquid eyeshadow in pink champagne Desert Sand on the lids, and layered Monsieur Big Volume Mascara on the top and bottom lashes for a fluffed-out fringe effect. On the hair front, Gladstone’s stylist Marc Mena sought to echo the fluidity of the dress. “It was a unanimous decision that it should be long with lots of movement to mimic the fringe,” he explains. The pro used Great Lengths tape-in extensions to build volume and waist-sweeping length before pulling the hair back into a taut half-up braid, a nod to the significance of braiding in Indigenous culture, says Mena. He glided the Shark SpeedStyle RapidGloss Finisher over lengths for a glossy shine to finish the look. As Stiles put it, Gladstone looked “elegant, seamless, and effortless” as she gave an emotional and inspiring acceptance speech, encouraging her Hollywood peers to “Keep speaking your truths, and keep speaking up for each other.”
