Soteri Skin develops science-based skincare products for people with eczema and other chronic skin conditions, formulated by leading dermatologists and a Harvard Chemistry PhD.
Skin surface pH is constantly in flux, and many daily activities can throw it out of balance. People with chronic skin conditions such as eczema have a harder time regulating their skin's pH. Soteri's patented pH/LOCK™ technology locks in the optimal skin surface pH for 12+ hours per application, which is shown to help break the cycle of skin sensitivity, whether users have eczema, psoriasis, or just a bad sunburn.
Soteri Skin’s mission is to help even those with the most sensitive of skin enjoy healthy, glowing, pHenomenal skin!
Their journey began with an itch.
Jen has struggled with psoriasis her entire life, and understands the physical and emotional toll that chronic skin conditions can take. Rafal, biochemist and inventor, saw his wife and daughter suffering from their eczema. Like others with sensitive skin and chronic skin conditions, they had tried everything—every cream, prescription, or remedy they could get their hands on—with no relief.
With a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences and chemistry from Harvard Medical School, Rafal was uniquely qualified to find a solution. As a startup veteran, MBA, and marketing guru, Jen was uniquely positioned to help share this solution with the world.
Together, they formed Soteri Skin, named after the ancient Greek goddess of safety and protection - Soteria. A fitting name, given that Soteri Skin treatments protect the skin barrier and help maintain the ideal pH balance. After all, who doesn’t want goddess-like skin?
Jen’s been in branding her entire career, receiving her MBA in marketing and luxury branding from Cornell University and ESSEC (a leading French business school). Having suffered from serious psoriasis and cystic acne, Jen understands the physical and emotional toll that chronic skin conditions can take. She's been in search of her own Holy Grail product for most of her life. Now she’s found it, and is thrilled to be a part of a solution that doesn’t just talk the talk; but is truly effective for eczema and for anyone with troubled, sensitive skin.
Rafal received his Ph.D in Biomedical Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology from Harvard Medical School, and went on to complete his postdoctoral fellowship from UC Berkeley. Earlier in his career he concentrated on viruses, the immune system, and drug development. Later he joined L’Oreal and helped establish L’Oreal Technology Incubator in San Francisco, where he led a product innovation team for over 7 years, working on products for brands like La Roche-Posay, CeraVe and SkinCeuticals. But it wasn’t until Rafal’s wife and daughter started suffering from eczema that skincare became a personal passion.
