About

Red’s makes real food from clean label ingredients including take-anywhere burritos and other handheld products. Their burritos, sandwiches, pizza snacks and more prove that clean eating can be both convenient and delicious, and the company is committed to creating great-tasting, better-for-you, frozen food that’s hand-built for adventures - just heat, eat and go…or stay.

All of the products are made from scratch with innovative flavors and high quality ingredients you can actually pronounce, and likely have in your own kitchen, including cage-free eggs, rBST-free cheese, antibiotic- and hormone-free meats, non-GMO grains and vegetables, and more.

Founding Story

It started on a Taco Tuesday, a popular night at the Adair trailer, where Red’s Founder and CEO Mike lived with his wife Paige while earning his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Each week, the evening had a waitlist of guests vying to try Paige’s famed burritos, and one week, Mike had a project due the next morning for his entrepreneurial class. While his classmates desired roles in finance and consulting, a career path that he had just left after six years, Mike had developed a passion for consumer product goods, and decided to present his idea for Paige’s burritos as his entrepreneurial plan, named for their dog Red, and Red’s was born.

Today, 14 years later, Red’s is now one of the largest natural frozen food brands in the country. The company makes the same delicious burritos that they were founded for, alongside breakfast sandwiches and other handheld items, all reflective of Mike’s unwavering commitment to creating clean label food using the highest quality ingredients in convenient formats, since he’s not only feeding families around the country but also his own.

That commitment has become an essential tenet of the brand and guides its operations and ongoing innovation. In 2016, the company began to own its manufacturing completely and opened their production facility in North Sioux City, South Dakota, where they are better able to control their supply chain and the quality of the products. Mike is passionate about both healthy food and building a more sustainable food chain, driving innovation for the freezer aisle and education around its better-for-you, better-for-the-planet benefits.

Team Bios

Mike Adair is the Founder / CEO of a Red’s, a clean label frozen food brand. Mike started Red’s 14 years ago based on his wife’s famous Taco Tuesday dinners and named the company after their beloved dog Red. Red’s is now one of the largest natural frozen food brands in the country and makes delicious, clean label and convenient burritos, breakfast sandwiches and other handheld items.

In addition to his commitment to feeding families like his own, Mike is also passionate about creating a sustainable food chain and advocating for the frozen food industry. With recent advances in technology, he’s seen firsthand how we can deliver high quality ingredients without sacrificing flavor or even using preservatives, while also capturing food at its peak and limiting supply chain waste.

Prior to Red’s Mike had a six-year career in finance at Pioneer Investments. This career started in Boston after attending Boston College and moved him to New York City and Seattle. He also has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where Red’s was his entrepreneurial class project.

Outside of work, Mike spends his time hiking, fishing, playing cornhole and obsessing over his lawn. This is all in between racing kids to sports activities all over Tennessee. Mike lives in Nashville with his wife Paige and their three kids, daughters Finley (14) and Samantha (13), and son Hunter (10).
