POPLINEN was founded on the principle to make women feel more than, not less than. The brand creates for the ones who have felt left out. Whether it is for the size of your body, color of your skin, or simply because you do not look or think the way you’re “supposed to.” Times are changing, and for the better.
Comfort and timeless style are everything to Founder, Desiree Buchanan. She created POPLINEN to bring more comfort to a woman’s wardrobe through earth-friendly, everyday essentials. Before starting the company, Desiree was cutting her teeth in the fashion magazine world of New York City and working on the social media/communications teams for start-ups including Warby Parker and The Black Tux. During her career journey, Buchanan couldn’t find a single brand offering premium, sustainably made clothing that was inclusive and comfortable without compromising on style. As someone who spent all her 20’s working in editorial and brand marketing, Desiree saw a true business opportunity to launch Poplinen.co in the spring of 2019 as a direct-to-consumer brand dedicated to celebrating diverse women of all backgrounds, shapes and sizes. POPLINEN is designing for the future by putting sustainable practices at the top and offering better fitting pieces with extended sizing.
