Founding Story

Their journey began in 2014 when, while purging their bathroom cabinets of conventional toxic beauty and personal care products, they found that antiperspirant was especially challenging to replace with something both natural and effective. Every natural deodorant they tried was ineffective and some even caused irritation and rashes. So they took matters into their own hands and began experimenting with making their own...

It took over a hundred test batches and almost a year until they landed on the PiperWai Natural Deodorant formula they have today. In the beginning, they handcrafted every batch in a community kitchen, traveled door to door convincing retailers to sell their product, and eventually built a small-yet-passionate community of customers who never imagined they could finally find an effective natural deodorant until they tried PiperWai. After an appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2015, thy saw an unprecedented demand for PiperWai Natural Deodorant. Since then, they have been hard at work, expanding and perfecting their product line. They have always been eco-conscious, but in 2021 they decided to up their game and lead the way to a more sustainable personal care industry by switching from glass and virgin plastics to more earth-friendly materials. Saving the earth never smelled so good.

The little jars it comes in are cute, and I was pleasantly surprised by the smell when I opened the container. It really does smell like a spa (which they claim on their site)! It's a neutral smell that could work for men or women. I used my finger and took out a pea size amount (which is what they recommend), and rubbed it into my arm pits. It rubs in and spreads very easily and smoothly. I was so excited to see how this works! I have struggled with serious sweat and sometimes some B.O my entire life and have really wanted a natural solution that would work for me…

PiperWai Natural Deodorant Review

I guess you've heard many times before about how harmful these ingredients can be. Although the color of this deodorant is light gray, it rubs on clear. It doesn't feel oily or make the armpits sticky but has more or less silky texture to it. I think this is because it contains skin-conditioning ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, and cocoa seed butter. I had one active and quite stressful day during which I was sweating a lot, but, thankfully, I didn't stink.

PiperWai Natural Deodorant Review

After trying several deodorants, I’m happy to stick with this one. PiperWai is aluminum free and if you believe the theories behind antiperspirants and cancer. PiperWai uses charcoal to absorb and neutralize odor. It doesn’t smell chalky or have an overpowering scent – typical of traditional deodorants. PiperWai uses essential oils to make your armpits smell like a spa. It’s natural, gluten-free and cruelty-free. PiperWai mixes coconut oil, shea butter and Vitamin E oil.
