Pineapple Collaborative began in 2015 with a potluck dinner attended by 30 women in Washington, D.C who came together over their shared love of food as a form of expression, heritage, and connection. Today, friends & co-founders Ariel Pasternak and Atara Bernstein have grown the Pineapple community to include more than 100,000 people through their events, editorial content, social media, and podcast—each platform providing engaging opportunities to lift the voices of burgeoning chefs, entrepreneurs, and farmers in the food industry. In November 2019, the duo debuted a line of pantry staples—The Olive Oil and The Apple Cider Vinegar.
Produced in collaboration with talented female makers they discovered through their community building, each product in their growing line – which most recently includes The Salt – furthers their ethos of food as connection by offering thoughtfully produced cooking essentials that can be enjoyed in households nationwide.
In 2017 Ariel Pasternak and Atara Bernstein founded Pineapple Collaborative: a national platform for people to build meaningful connections through their passion for food. Pineapple Collaborative believes that food is more than what’s on your plate–it’s how you express your personal style, identity, and values. Pineapple Collaborative enables this connection via thoughtfully produced events across the country (and virtually since the onset of the pandemic) engaging content, and pantry staples meant to better everyday cooking—all of which lifts the voices of burgeoning talent in the food industry.
When co-founders Ariel and Atara launched their content vertical, The Pantry in 2017 to get a glimpse inside the kitchens of inspiring people, they realized that almost every member of their community has two products that they reach for every single day–olive oil and vinegar–but they rarely ever had a connection to a particular brand. Gauging the needs of the network they had built, and underwhelmed with the options available in the category, they launched their line of pantry staples in 2019 that you can trust, made by burgeoning female makers you should support: The Olive Oil & The Apple Cider Vinegar. In 2021, the pair debuted their third pantry staple, The Salt.
