About
For the fashion and eco-conscious traveler, gardener, bug magnet, and outdoorsy-type, Pang Wangle is reinventing outdoor leisurewear by adding odorless and safe bug repellent technology into timeless styles for better travel and outdoor living. Put away the bug spray. It's time to enjoy soft, understated luxury and the freedom to enjoy nature, bite-free.
Our Pang Wangle clothes repel mosquitoes, ticks, flies, fleas, ants, and midges. Protection is odorless and stays fully effective for 70+ washes. Easy care, just wash and wear. Insect Shield® has been repeatedly tested and proven safe for everyone by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including infants, pregnant or nursing women, even pets. Insect Shield technology was created 20 years ago for the U.S. military and it has been used safely and effectively for years in deep woods camping and safari clothes - utilitarian, heavy clothes. Pang Wangle is the first and only brand adding it into eco-friendly, fashionable styles that are lightweight enough for hot, buggy climates and stylish enough for every day. Pang Wangle is a vintage American phrase that means ‘to go along cheerfully despite minor misfortunes.’ Our name reflects our optimistic approach to enjoying the outdoors — despite those little blood-suckers – with the right clothes and the right attitude. Woman-owned small business based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Founding Story
What's that perfume you're wearing? Oh that's bug spray. I've had this conversation too many times. As a lifelong mosquito magnet with a healthy fear of ticks, I found myself carrying it around in my purse and sometimes slathering it on day and night - to walk the dogs, sit on the porch, or go to an outdoor party. It collects fuzz and glitter and it smells, y'all. And it's really not good for the environment.
I searched for a better solution and found this innovative Insect Shield technology, which was developed 2 decades ago for the U.S. military. But the clothes felt heavy, utilitarian, and they were not very sustainably made. With Pang Wangle, we're creating a line of classic, elegant styles in lightweight, earth-friendly fabrics you can dress up or down and wear every day. I hope you'll stay with us on this journey because we have beautiful things to come. - Jen

I'm a filmmaker and entrepreneur, passionate about outdoor adventure and committed to sustainable design. Over the years working and playing out in the elements, I saw a real need for more versatile, stylish apparel made specifically for hot, buggy climates.
After a decade producing and directing documentaries and brand films through my production company Fresh Media, I launched Pang Wangle to start making the clothes I wished I could find. We partner with Insect Shield® to infuse odorless and effective bug repellent into our clothes and accessories. The protection lasts 70+ washes and its EPA approved for the entire family. And we've built a sustainable supply chain for our high performance, lightweight fabrics.

verb 1. To go along cheerfully despite minor misfortunes.
Pang Wangle is a vintage American phrase that reflects our optimistic approach to enjoying the outdoors – despite those little bloodsuckers - with the right clothes and the right attitude. Global warming is expanding insect habitats, and vector-borne diseases are on the rise. It's time to adapt.
In 2022, I launched Travel Itch: A Pang Wangle Podcast, where I interview experienced travelers about some of their most memorable experiences and location. Find it wherever you get your podcasts.
Before Pang Wangle, I founded Fresh Media, an award-winning video production company creating non-fiction branded content for a long list of clients. I also produced and directed two feature films: Reconstructing Creole (2007) won Best Documentary Feature at the Los Angeles DV Film Festival and All Over But to Cry (2009) won an Emmy and airs in the UK on PBS America after spending 3 years on The Documentary Channel.
As an Adjunct Professor of Visual Communication at Tulane University, I've taught about the history and theory of visual communication in a variety of cultural contexts. I have also taught Political Communication at Tulane, and Feature Writing and Communication Writing at Loyola University.
Collaboration and innovation feed my curiosity. What's next? Something good.
