OFFHOURS is a design company with a focus on functionality, comfort, and the everyday pleasures of life. The company aims to improve people's day-to-day by reinventing the experience of their personal spaces through good design, and a dose of practical product innovation when called for – upgrading the things ingrained in our daily routines that we reach for regularly, but are often overlooked.
Not quite “loungewear” and not quite “sleepwear,” OFFHOURS has championed the term “inactive wear,” to accurately categorize very comfortable clothes meant to be worn at home during moments of self-care. As advocates for switching off, OFFHOURs believes in engaging in self-care that works for you—be it pruning your bonsai or solving a crossword puzzle—and staying cozy while doing it.
David McGillivray is a designer by trade, cutting his teeth at boutique graphic design studios in the UK before making the move to New York in 2011. He went on to work with a variety of startups (including Bonobos, and AYR) before branching out with his own independent design practice. Here he worked with a variety of clientele, specializing in holistic brand work and impactful digital design. David worked with a variety of clients; from helping Conde Nast launch a new property (Clever), to designing the ecommerce presence of companies like wellness brand The Nue Co, and Interior paint brand Backdrop. David continues to advise and consult for other brands when time permits.
