Founder, Kristin Ruud, started Northern Classics after spending hours searching for snowsuits for her newborn twins. She was disappointed to find there were no options made with high quality materials that were also picture-worthy (the swimwear and play clothes got all the love!). So, Kristin set out on a mission – to source the best performing materials to keep children warm and dry, while incorporating classic and clean design elements. And of course, the look wouldn’t be complete without matching accessories.

As Kristin built Northern Classics, her children grew and she couldn't believe the impact getting outside had on their moods, growth and confidence. They were SO happy exploring the outdoors – and honestly, she was too, learning that she could be more hands-off as they found entertainment on their own in nature, learning by doing and finding joy in the simplest form. When snow was on the ground, it was even better - an instant toy in itself! And as long as they were dressed for the weather, her kids didn't even notice the cold.
