Moonlit Skincare is dedicated to overnight skincare and sleep wellness. With thoughtful products created to make nighttime a more welcome place for sleep, evening skincare is made easy.

Stephanie Kim and Kriszta Matyi launched Moonlit Skincare in 2017. Since then, Moonlit Skincare has carried by Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, QVC, and over 150 indie retailers across the globe.

They believe in integrity above all, and they look for production partners who feel the same. That’s why they work with small businesses around the globe—from a group that supports working mothers in Bali to a family-run establishment in the U.S.—that bolster their local communities. It’s their standard that everyone who contributes to their brand cares deeply about the people around them.

Founding Story

They are, Kriszta and Stephy, former night owls, current sleep devotees, and co-founders of Moonlit Skincare.

They met at Parsons School of Design (located in the city notorious for its up-all-night vibe). Rest was scarce during their college years—and that wreaked havoc on their skin and sleep routines. They searched for accessible skincare that worked while they slept, promoted relaxation, and looked great on their nightstands. But the options they found were not priced or designed for us, and it became clear that the most restorative hours for skin were an afterthought in the beauty industry.

Stephanie has been in the beauty industry for her entire career (she was one of Birchbox’s first interns). Before launching Moonlit Skincare in 2017 with her best friend Kriszta, whom she met at Parsons School of Design, she worked for Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, Nivea, Aquaphor, Obliphica, L’Oréal, Kérastase and Shu Uemura.

Kriszta Matyi is a web developer and product designer with an industrial design background. Obsessed with beauty and skincare, she’s a veteran of prestigious agencies like Wolff Olins, Shopify, and more.
