About
Nestled in the foothills of Siena, La Poderina is a stunning estate in the Tuscan countryside. The former editor-in-chief of renowned publication IO DONNA, Diamante D’Alessio’s goal in purchasing the property was to channel her experience in fashion, culture and art into the estate. The 12 hectares comprising La Poderina boasted 500 antique olive trees, inspiring D'Alessio to create the “haute couture of olive oil”—the ultimate and most pristine bottling of high-end olive oil. She worked closely with experts in the field to combine olive varietals local to Tuscany—Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Leccino—to create a low-acid oil that is perfectly balanced with fruity and spicy notes. The olives are harvested by hand and everything is done according to organic practices with IGP certification for the oil itself. An exceptional finishing oil, Orgolio pairs flawlessly with simple preparations to allow the green notes to shine.
Founding Story
When Diamante D'Alessio had reached the pinnacle of her career in journalism as editor-in-chief of renowned publication IO DONNA, she looked fervently for a new outlet to channel her culinary and sartorial creativity. La Poderina showcases D'Alessio's extensive experience in fashion, culture, and art with beautiful results. The 12-hectare property is home to 500 antique olive trees, plus 2,500 younger trees she planted within the past ten years. The property continues to inspire D'Alessio to create Orgolio—the ultimate example of luxury olive oil.

Diamante D'Alessio is not a farmer by birth, but rather took up the trade in mid-life. In her previous career, she was trained as a photographer who eventually rose in the ranks to become Editor in Chief of Io Donna, a major fashion and beauty magazine in Italy. After tracking trends around the globe for years, she decided to focus on home. In 2017, she bought a small olive grove in Tuscany consisting of about 500 antique olive trees with the hope of making her own olive oil. Since then, she's planted 2,500 additional trees and farms organically with an eye for extremly high quality. As of 2023, with the help of a small team of friends and her dog Oliva, Diamante is poised to enter her fourth year of olive oil production. With an unmatched eye for style and exquisite taste, Diamante loves to share her small corner of Tuscany with the world.
