About
Named after her Navajo clan, Kinyaa’áanii, Kiyani Botanics reflects founder Miranda Mullett’s dedication to honoring her cultural heritage and protecting Mother Earth.
Kiyani Botanics is a natural, plant-based, and sustainable skincare line founded in 2021 by Miranda, a Native American entrepreneur from the Navajo Nation in Wide Ruins, Arizona. The brand’s mission is to create effective, environmentally conscious products using non-toxic formulations and eco-friendly packaging. Every product is meticulously formulated, tested, and refined by Miranda herself, using the highest quality natural ingredients, including wild-forged sagebrush from Wide Ruins, to deliver gentle, nourishing skincare.
Beyond skincare, Kiyani is a community-driven initiative supporting the Wide Ruins Reservation. Miranda partners like Wood for Life to provide essential supplies including firewood, water, and food to elders in the Wide Ruins community. With a focus on creating employment opportunities and establishing a manufacturing facility on the reservation, Kiyani is dedicated to making a positive impact on both the environment and the local community. Grounded in tradition and sustainability, Kiyani Botanics embodies a deep respect for both people and the planet.
Founding Story
Kiyani Botanics was born out of founder Miranda Mullett’s passion for sustainability and desire to honor her Navajo heritage. Growing up on the Navajo Nation in Wide Ruins, Arizona, Miranda learned the healing properties of native plants like sagebrush, juniper, and broomweed from her grandmother. This traditional knowledge, combined with a deep respect for nature, laid the foundation for Kiyani.
The idea for Kiyani Botanics took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic when Miranda, then living in a remote village outside Beijing, faced a lack of eco-friendly personal care products. Drawing on her chemistry background, she began formulating natural body care items for personal use and shared them within her community. The positive response she received encouraged her to launch Kiyani as a full-fledged business in 2021. Since then, Miranda has remained dedicated to blending tradition with modern sustainability, creating a brand that honors both her roots and commitment to environmental stewardship.
