Joolies brings delicious, organic Medjool dates from our palms to yours as a delicious, healthy on-the-go option for snackers everywhere. Medjool dates, also known as the king of dates, are a great source of energy, have a low glycemic index, and are full of beneficial nutrients. To ensure the best possible quality, Joolies dates are handpicked from the tree and carefully packed at peak ripeness.
Joolies launched in 2019 at Expo West, nearly sneaking into the show and then featured by The Dieline, a Top Brand at the show. Now, Joolies can be found in nearly 3,500 locations across the United States and is expanding into the U.K. and EMEA markets! Locations the carry include Erewhon, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Thrive Market, Albertsons, Safeway, ACME, and many natural independent retailers. Joolies is distributed through UNFI, KeHE, and can work directly with retailers.
The Kohl Family Farm has been farming Medjool dates on 500 acres for the past two decades and has honed their craft to present Joolies to the world. A joint partnership between the Kohl Family Farm and Venice Brands, Joolies is on a mission to share the nutritious goodness of organic Medjool dates grown in the sunny Coachella Valley of Southern California.
In 2020, Joolies LLC acquired Desert Valley Date, Inc and expanded the company capacity to a 100,000 square foot processing facility and 1,000 acres of date palms across the Coachella Valley. Now, Joolies is able to provide organic and non-organic date varieties and an array of date based ingredient products on a B2B and B2C level. For brands looking to reduce refined sugar in their own products, Joolies wants to be your mate!

Founding Story
Joolies co-founder David Kohl is the Managing Partner of La Quinta Date Growers, a family owned date farm located in Coachella, California. The family is one of the largest growers of organic Medjool dates in the United States.
The farm was one of the first date producers to become organic. The Kohl operations have always been at the forefront of environmental awareness, global best practices and efficient farming technology by working with international experts to improve all their farming techniques.
These innovations include commissioning the most modern and safest equipment. Working with the equipment manufactures and air quality management district, they customized equipment in order to meet the highest environmental standards while creating a safer workplace for their employees. The farm operates drip irrigation and effective water management systems so every drop of water can be fully utilized.
Kohl Family Farm decided to partner with Greg Willsey and Venice Brands to create a vibrant and playful lifestyle brand worthy of this under-appreciated California Superfruit – the organic Medjool date! David is a passionate surfer. If there is a swell, come meet him in the water.
