About

Hone Health, an online clinic that treats men’s hormonal imbalances and low testosterone, is on a mission to destigmatize and educate people about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and testosterone support—and to educate men about our evidence-based approach to help them live richer, fuller lives. As part of a subscription and as medically indicated, physicians prescribe medications and recommend supplements that are delivered to you from the comfort of your home.

Studies show that men’s testosterone levels have been declining for decades. The most prominent, a study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism published in 2007, revealed that men’s testosterone levels plummeted 17% from 1987 to 2004. While recent research has shown benefits of testosterone treatment in areas including diabetes, sleep disturbance, and heart health, many men hesitate to seek treatment because of the stigma associated with testosterone support.

In men, testosterone is thought to regulate a number of functions alongside sperm production. These include:

- Maintaining energy levels

- Enhancing mood and concentration

- Building muscle bulk and strength

- Distributing fat

- Producing sperm

- Maintaining a healthy bone density

- Promoting the growth of body and facial hair

- Generating and maintaining a health blood cell count

- Stimulating sex drive

So what is Hormone Replacement Therapy? Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for men aims to restore and maintain hormone balance with hormones that have similar chemical structures to the hormones produced by the human body.

Hormones guide our bodies through many important functions, such as growth, metabolism, and reproduction. Over time, production of testosterone and other hormones declines and our bodies run far less efficiently. It can be age, the environment or stress. Low testosterone affects almost 40% of men aged 45 and older, and could experience symptoms including fatigue, low sex drive, reduced lean muscle mass, irritability and depression.

According to recent research, most men feel improvement in symptoms as quickly as three to six weeks after beginning HRT.

Hone Health provides a full-service telehealth solution—including lab testing, confidential physician consultations, and prescription services—to fulfill men’s exact needs from the comfort of their own home. They use both bioidentical and synthetic hormones. Their physicians have expert knowledge of the risks and benefits associated with each medication they subscribe to patients. Physicians spend time explaining these during the consultation, and patients are required to consent to these risks before any medication is provided.
