Estella is an online baby gift boutique for busy, fashion, design & eco-conscious shoppers. Designed in New York by a mom & pop team with 3 children of their own, Estella caters to new parents, grand parents, uncles, aunts & professionals looking for something special for baby, something that truly shows that 'somebody loves baby'. Estella's newborn gifts are designed and made by people who care, are paid living wages, enjoy what they do, believe in sustainability and push themselves to do better for the planet that baby will inherit.
Estella was founded in 2002 by Chike Chukwulozie, an African-born immigrant, and his wife, Jean Polsky, a native New Yorker. Chike, a lawyer by training and his wife who had spent her career mostly at Bergdorf Goodman first launched Estella as a multi-brand children's clothing brick & mortar shop in New York's Greenwich Village. They saw a need for a kids boutique that carried less formal wear and more fashionable, but practical clothes that was fitting to downtown families. The store was popular with celebrities, press and neighborhood families. After over a decade, the couple closed the local store and began it's national journey through wholesale and e-commerce. Still based in Chelsea New York, Estella is now a brand with its own critically acclaimed collection that is not only beautifully designed, but that is made with sustainable materials and in fair trade cooperatives. Not only has the brand been using organic cotton for over a decade, but it continues to push itself to do better and be more sustainable. Estella works with manufacturers that treat its workers humanely, pay them living wages or more and that live and breath sustainability. Estella's collection is sold primarily in its online boutique, but also at New York's Museum of Modern Art, top gift shops and boutiques nationwide. Estella has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue, Elle, Good Housekeeping, InStyle, Vanity Fair and multiple news and fashion outlets.
