Women are powerful.

I remember staring at myself in the mirror as a little girl and wondering, who am I? A child of working-class, Indian immigrants who left Fiji for the United States in the 70s, I grew up in a traditional household that left me completely confused about our heritage. Unfortunately, my parents had no answers for me either.

Unable to confidently identify which ethnic group I belonged to was dissatisfying, and also the seed that grew into an insatiable curiosity about the world, and myself. I have learned that a fulfilled life is one that is designed from the inside out. I believe that taking intentional care of your mental, personal and environmental space helps us win at life, collectively.

As an advocate for international health equity, I’ve approached much of my life with one question - how do my choices impact humanity?

After graduating with my Master of Science in Global Medicine, I started my career in 2011 researching treatments for blood disorders in children. I later moved on to helping bring new pediatric medical devices to market at Johnson & Johnson, and in 2015, I began working nationally to increase awareness and access to HIV testing with a 1-Minute test developed by a Canada-based biotechnology start-up. In 2021, I launched drip skin, a premium skincare brand dedicated to social and environmental causes related to water.

From working with cosmetic injectables in the glamour of Southern California to sharing sustainable reproductive health options with women in Cambodia’s remote island villages, one thing remains clear - we are all connected.
