Founded by BIPOC entrepreneurs Sarah Tan and Ying Laohachewin, By Kind leverages science-backed ingredients and Asian skincare innovations to craft transformative products suitable for all skin types, including acne-prone and sensitive skin. Committed to cruelty-free practices, By Kind uses only the highest quality, safe ingredients, steering clear of harmful chemicals like parabens and sulfates. Recognizing that today's savvy consumers are increasingly becoming more astute about skincare , By Kind was established with the philosophy of "for every kind of skin, kind in every way." This means being super picky with its ingredients at the same time is gentle enough for all skin types to use.
Founding Story
Both founders were raised in Asian cultures (Sarah is from Singapore and Ying is from Thailand), where there is a strong emphasis on skincare routines that focus on skin that is clear, healthy and radiant and also very much focused on natural remedies. Avid skincare junkies who traveled frequently and had demanding on-the-go lifestyles, they tried many products but realized there wasn’t one skincare brand that both suited their skin needs and busy lifestyle.
After experiencing a bad reaction to a globally known skincare brand and developing skin sensitivity, Sarah began research into ingredients and skin barrier function. She started making skincare products in her kitchen in Brooklyn and sharing it with Ying and her community. Thus, By Kind was born – offering clean, effective, and convenient skincare solutions that multi-tasks as hard as you.

While not a skin care person, despite knowing many people In the space, I decided to give By-Kind a go as I know one of co-founders from Singapore. While the purchase was intended for my Korean wife, who is loyal to Korean Brands. I decided to use it myself as it advertised as a Unisex product. Within days of using this product my dry slowly wrinkling poor complexion has slowly resided and my face gently feels refreshed.
