Answering to consumer demand, Blackbird Foods is to release a frozen Pepperoni Pizza next week. Similar to their unique approach to frozen pizza, Blackbird’s newest pie is a fresh take on a classic recipe. Each pie is crafted with deliciously natural seitan pepperoni slices, fresh tomato sauce, and plant-based Violife cheese. Their vegan pizzas, regarded by many as the best frozen pizza, also include four other popular varieties: BBQ Chick’n, Supreme, Kale & Mushroom, and Margherita. Blackbird Foods is an artisanal producer of plant-based pizza and seitan. Founded by chefs in NYC, they believe in using the highest quality ingredients to create restaurant quality foods. While other frozen pizzas are made from flat discs of pre-cooked dough, Blackbird uses overnight rising dough and tosses each one by hand in their own facility in NYC. As customers persistently asked for a plant-based pepperoni pizza, Blackbird was happy to comply. “We always had plans to launch a plant-based pepperoni pizza, but we didn’t want to until we could really get it right.
