Play structures are not just for kids anymore

Bijou was developed by a mom of 3 who noticed many rotting play structures in people’s yards when she was looking for a structure for her children.

Rusted out swing sets and unsafe, rotted wood. There had to be a better way.

Of all the outdoor products we buy for kids, outdoor play structures are generally the largest and take up the most of our precious space.

Bijou addresses the concept of the “green market." Green market products are previously owned products that have been used and put back into productive use. These products are often reimagined and repurposed.

• Bijou's polyester panels used in its play structures are made with 50% recycled water bottles. The panels are UV-resistant and made of heavy-duty outdoor material. Bijou can stay outdoors in the rain, snow, and sun and last for years. If the panels get dirty, simply use soap and water and a scrub brush.
• The top steel bracket is made of 20% recycled steel. The brand has taken all excessive plastic out of the packaging and make the shipping size as compact as possible.
• Bijou doesn’t ship wood around the world. Rather, the brand uses standard pressure treated 2x4’s from any local hardware store.
• Bijou includes a solar panel and 100 LED’s that light up the fun.

Recycling is not enough; we need to be thinking about making products that last longer and live outside of their original purpose. Bijou can be used by kids, then transitioned to teens, and ultimately used by adults before coming back around for kids once again. The wood can also be removed for easy gifting or selling purposes.

No single-use play structures here!
