Sustained play, a sustainable way
Founding Story
Amanda Lacy is the inventor and founder of Bijou Build. She lives in a beautiful seaside village in Maine with her three children, one leopard gecko, five fish, four chickens and one husband.
She came up with the idea for Bijou when she was looking for an outdoor play structure for her house during the Covid-19 pandemic. She saw a lot of old, unused structures that took over people’s yards and she knew she wanted something better.
With over 10 years of experience in product development for major global brands, she knew she could make something that her kids would play with and that she wanted to see in her own yard. Bijou Build is working to make Bijou the future of play. No single use play structures and no single way to play.
With 3 kids, she is always looking for ways to simplify her life and as the Lupine Lady says, "make the world a more beautiful place."

Team Bios
Amanda Lacy is the founder and inventor of Bijou Build. With over 15 years of product development experience, several patents and a history of award winning products she is bringing outdoor play in the future.
A mother of 3 living on the beautiful coast of Maine, she is inventing new ways to play. Bijou is the first outdoor play structure that addresses the green market principles of reimagine and reuse.
Amanda’s design philosophy centers on children’s products designed for families. Easy to store, easy to assemble, appealing to all ages.
With over 15 years of product development experience, several patents, and a history of creating award winning products she’s bringing outdoor play into the future.
Amanda’s most recent accomplishment was winning the International Design Award for sustainable living and environmental preservation for sports/ toys/ games.
Bijou’s mission is to bring solutions to families. Amanda designed Bijou to be collapsible, expandable, and adaptable. No single use play structures here.
Amanda graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in economics and a love of travel.
