About

Athletic Greens sells a comprehensive and convenient daily nutrition supplement that makes it easy to get the nutritional insurance our bodies need.

The company’s flagship product, AG1, is a foundational nutrition drink designed to remove the friction from covering the daily nutritional and gut health support needs of a modern lifestyle. AG1 combines more than nine synergistic essential health products into one convenient and great-tasting drink, giving customers an easy and efficient way to get their daily essential multivitamin, multimineral, probiotic, prebiotic, functional phytonutrient blend, immune support complex and more. Containing a complex blend of 75 vitamins, minerals, and whole food-sourced ingredients, AG1 contains no GMOs, no harmful ingredients, no artificial colors or sweeteners, and is diet-friendly whether you eat keto, paleo, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free or practice intermittent fasting. AG1 is NSF-Certified for Sport, a standard sought by many professional athletes and one of the most rigorous certification programs in the supplement industry, and made in a TGA-registered facility.

Athletic Greens was founded in 2010 by CEO Chris Ashenden and is a globally remote company with operations spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

Founding Story

Chris Ashenden is helping humans take ownership of their own health, with one simple scoop.

He started Athletic Greens as a result of his personal health struggles and frustrations with his own health journey. For years he remained sick, despite doing what he thought was the right thing with food and supplementation. He’s worked on a solution with the best naturopaths, doctors and medical researchers in the world to develop a small but mighty solution - the first iteration of AG1. It was developed to be an incredibly simple, powerful and effective way of covering your nutritional bases every day. Ten years later, Athletic Greens is at version 52.

Athletic Greens is a global health company with a mission to empower people to take ownership of their health through a focus on foundational nutrition. Their flagship product, AG1, is a daily nutritional drink that combines 75 premium ingredients into one scoop so it’s easy to cover the gaps in your diet. Gone are the days of downing pills and scouring the vitamin aisle, AG1 combines more than nine synergistic essential health products into one great-tasting drink, for a convenient and efficient way to get your daily essential multivitamin, multimineral, probiotic, prebiotic, functional phytonutrient blend, immune support complex and more.

Earlier this year, the company announced $115 million in new funding with a valuation of over $1 billion. Athletic Greens has fostered a robust network of digital content creators leveraged across multiple channels who can reach new customers, authentically pulling them into the engaged and passionate Athletic Greens community. Athletic Greens is using this funding to further improve their customer experience and meet new consumers where they are and through the voices they trust, including bringing on new creators and partners, and also embracing emerging web3 opportunities. The company will also invest in its global manufacturing and logistics capabilities and expand distribution across digital and offline channels.

More than an entrepreneur, Chris Ashenden has created a global movement. He listens to his customers and understands that consumers are demanding more from the health products they use daily. Athletic Greens has emerged as a leader by helping people realize their functional health goals with an incredibly high-quality and convenient product that focuses on foundational nutrition. Last year, their commitment to empowering lives led to an over 200% increase in new members of the health ownership movement.

Athletic Greens believes that nutrition is a human right. In 2021, Athletic Greens partnered with a handful of organizations dedicated to delivering meals to children in need. Together with No Kid Hungry, an organization committed to ending childhood hunger in the US, Athletic Greens donated over 700,000 meals in 2021.

While working through his own personal health challenges, Chris realized that everyone could be taking a simple step in their daily routines to gain ownership of their health. He’s created a single product that eliminates half of the vitamins and supplements aisle at a grocery store, making our wellness rituals incredibly manageable and uncomplicated.
