Following

Solly Baby The Wrap

The preferred wrap of cool, eco-minded parents, Solly’s sustainably sourced and biodegradable, 100% certified Tencel Modal are eco-sensitive and beautiful. Designed in a universal fit for male and female wearers, this wrap can belong all to dad or can be shared by between dad and mom. Solly Baby CEO Neil Kee says, “Babywearing isn’t always thought of as a guy thing, but it’s the easiest way to bond with your baby. Even with my old man back, the Solly Wrap distributes the weight comfortably, so it’s never given me any trouble. If I could offer new dads one piece of advice, it would be to not be intimidated by the wrap but to watch the tutorial and master it—it’s a game-changer when it comes to keeping baby happy and makes you feel like you’re crushing it as a dad.”

Lovevery Play Kits

Every plugged-in parent with even the smallest interest in sustainability swears by Lovevery. The brand’s Play Kits are designed to support baby’s developing brain with stage-based play essentials. Each kit is full of Montessori-inspired playthings and books, delivered every 2-3 months or purchased as a one-off. All of Lovevery’s playthings are crafted from eco-friendly materials, including FSC-certified wood, organic cotton, OEKO-TEX® fabrics, handcrafted felt, recycled paper, soy-based ink, water-based paints, and bio-based plastics.

Nixon Escape Duffel

Perfect for so many new and expecting dad scenarios, from a weekend babymoon to the first parents’ away without baby, Nixon’s 35L duffel is around the size of a larger backpack and perfect for a quick escape. Designed just like any other skate-inspired bag but secretly sustainable, this duffel is made from a polyester exterior sourced from REPREVE® Our Ocean™ recycled ocean plastics. Handy straps and a separate, side shoe compartment for wet gear or shoes make it a versatile bag that will get used all of the time for dad, but probably overtaken by

SNOO Smart Sleeper

So many new parents swear by the SNOO smart bassinet, but not as many know it’s more sustainable that a dad-to-be might think. The SNOO is nontoxic, phthalate-free and BPA-free; and its complementary sleep sacks and sheets are made from organic cotton. Because the SNOO is just for baby’s first six months, dads can re-gift to other new parents as one way of lessening a carbon footprint. Alternatively, there is a SNOO rental program that allows parents to use the SNOO in the short-term for just as long as they need. Happiest Baby is having a Father’s Day sale on the SNOO from June 17-19, offering 20% off of SNOO and sitewide.

Asket 100% Traceable Linen Shirt

Chances are all of dad’s purchases recently have been for baby, and if he’s on paternity or working remotely he likely hasn’t gotten himself anything new in a long while. He would probably be very grateful for a 100% organic linen shirt that gets softer with wash and wear and is tailored for a relaxed fit, with mother of pearl buttons. Asket has also reached 100% traceability for most of their garments, meaning its supply chain is entirely transparent from farm to manufacturing. Perfect for having to leave the nest for weekend barbecues or summer weddings, ASKET’s linen shirt is a polished but easy-breezy addition to his wardrobe.

Freestyle Design-But-Eco Diapers

For new dads who dig both sustainability and design, Freestyle’s just-launched line of chic-but-eco diapers might be a very welcome gift. Started by two dads because, as Co-founder Mike Constantiner puts it,"As parents we felt like there is this mainstream perception that once you have a baby you lose your creativity and sense of self. As anyone who has made the jump to the other side knows, that just isn't true. My kids have no clue what diaper they are wearing, so why are they designed for them, and not the parents who are buying them and seeing them?” Co-founder Russ Wallace adds on sustainability that, “The Freestyle diaper is made from our proprietary tree-free Hyper Absorbent BambooTek™ core. Instead of using trees (over 1 Billion cut down per year to supply the diaper market) we opted for bamboo which is the fastest growing plant on the planet with growth cycles as fast as 60 days (compared to ~20 years for pine trees). On top of that we were able to engineer a diaper that not only is more eco-friendly, but it also absorbs 55% more liquid and retains 39% more moisture than the leading plant based brand."

Spy Crossway Shades

One of Spy’s flagship styles, the Crossway is made from bioplastic, which is comprised of 50% organic plant matter that is both lightweight and super durable. These shades are versatile enough to transition from brunch with baby to hikes or any other outdoor activities. Accurate Radius Curve (ARC) polycarbonate lenses are designed to follow the eye’s natural curvature to provide crystal-clear vision while reducing eyestrain. Snap hinges provide a secure fit, while a polarization blocks 99% of surface glare and is layered and sealed within SPY’s lenses to prevent scratching, delaminating or hazing of a polarized filter.

WonderFold Wagon

The WonderFold wagon is a go-anywhere, all-terrain wagon for active families. It’s also a personal favorite of Emily Hosie, Founder of resale baby and kid’s gear platform Rebelstork. Her top recommendation across all of Rebelstork’s products for new dad gifts is the Wonderfold Wagon. She says, “Every dad needs a wagon to add a bit of ease to his life! I personally recommend the Wonderfold Wagon for new, active dads who have to get their baby and toddlers from point A to point B. Perfect for the beach, walks to the farmer’s market, outdoor concerts and activities. The wagon comes with UV protective canopies and is great for that transition from park-play to at-home quiet time. For dads who have a larger family, I’d recommend the Keenz style as it can fit up to four passengers.”

Alta Colina Grenache Rosé

Over a warm Father’s Day weekend, many dads might just want a delicious glass (or bottle) of sustainably made, perfectly balanced rosé. The beautiful wines at Alta Colina are all estate-grown, farmed organically and made on a solar-powered winery. Bob Tillman, Founder and Director of Winemaking at Alta Colina who runs the winery with his daughter, says, “After a long day at the winery, my daughter Maggie and I will often head up to our Sundowner Deck for a 'creative meeting,' which is shorthand for opening a bottle of our Grenache Rosé, watching the sun set over the vineyard and talking shop. There's no better way to end the day that I can think of."
