21 ‘No Bones Day’ Essentials for When You Absolutely Must Stay Inside

If anyone would have told me two years ago (I would have believed just about anything last year) that in 2021 we would all be basing whether or not we'd have a productive day on a 13-year-old pug named Noodle from the internet, I would have promptly laughed—no, guffawed—in your face.  But Noodle is the hero that we didn't know we needed. In a time of *gestures at everything*, everyone needs a semblance of hope to cling to. In this case, it comes in the form of a geriatric dog who interrupts your "doomscrolling" to remind you to take care of yourself. Yes, life's ruff, but it doesn't always have to be.

Noodle the pug, and his owner, Jonathan Granzino (@jongraz), have become TikTok famous (procuring over 4.4 million followers in the past year on TikTok alone) for giving people a reason to smile. For those who haven't heard of the trend, the way it works is: every day, Granzino wakes Noodle up from a sound slumber, and plays a game. If Noodle stands, it's a "bones day," (which is essentially a "seize the day" kind of day—a day consisting of getting errands done, meeting goals, and general productivity) and if the elderly pug flops back into bed, it's a "no bones day," (a day of rest and self-care). That's how the 649.2 million+ viewers of the #nobones hashtag proceed to judge if they are going to have a productive day or one that requires them to stay inside because nothing good can come of any sort of physical activity.
